Pros and Cons

Let’s look at a few pros on cons of the 2.1 speaker systems from Logitech.

Logitech Z533

Logitech Z533

Pros:

  • Great sounds, clear vocals and extended bass
  • The setup is easy
  • Very impressive value for money

Cons:

  • Some people have reported a buzzing sound caused by the poor-quality audio cable included

Logitech Z623

Logitech Z623

Pros:

  • No distortion, even at higher volumes
  • Better sound quality than you would expect
  • The THX certification is noticeable

Cons:

  • The cable connections are weak and it’s easy to accidentally pull them out

The Final Verdict

Aside from the price difference, the Logitech Z533 had one advantage over the Logitech Z623 and that was the design. The set was smaller, we liked the integrated control pod and overall it was much sleeker. Even the copper/gold features were a nice touch and improved the appearance.

On the other hand, the sound quality of the Logitech Z623 was far superior. The additional power and THX certification made a big difference in the strength of the base and the clarity of the higher frequencies.  Careful setup and choice of location can help with the delicate cable connections and apart from that, the quality of the build seemed a little better. For these reasons, we felt the Logitech Z623 was well worth the extra money and the better buy.
